Yellow Fever
As Coldplay so famously sang: And it was all yellow.
Last month, Danish designer and multi-artist Henrik Vibskov curated an exhibition at my local art museum, an exhibition he named Screaming Yellow and Luminous Lavender. What was special about this exhibition was, a museum which seems dusty and stuck in the past, this exhibition space greeted you with a bright yellow greenhouse with holes in it. Bang in the middle of the room, this big yellow assembled house, was a bright transition from what the museum was reminiscent of to me. When walking around the greenhouse and peeping through the holes, the audiences are asked to participate in the installation, and made curious to find out what is inside. Carefully placed, Henrik Vibskov had chosen artifacts and sculptures from the Museum's huge collection. Around the greenhouse are small rooms, whose walls attract you with a pretty purple light. Although when you enter the room it is just white, filled with paintings neither of alphabetical or timely order, but carefully chosen and put together as they suit visually.

Following this exhibition, Paris Fashion Week just ended - and one of the most interesting shows this season was Dior SS13. Not only because of new designer Raf Simons and the huge expectations upon him - but the show itself was magnificent. With escalators... and it was all yellow.
The invitation was all yellow with patterns in different tones of yellow. And the floor was all yellow. And the clothes were yellow - similar to a previous Henrik Vibskov collection, The Mint Institute.

An ode to the shoes
Now that the pre-seasons are hitting the stores it brings with it one of my favourite times of year.
Not only can I shop for the future and dream of what I want to have - but what I dreamt of that I wanted is now more available than ever - sales have hit the stores.
And it brings me one step closer to my dream. One step closer to my shoes.
What is it that is so magical about shoes? Yesterday I was asked if i ever notice what shoes people are wearing. The answer is, yes. Shoes are one of the first thing I notice when I meet a new person. For an introverted and clumsy person like me, I do look down when I walk. And shoes are one of the final touches to an outfit. What are the perfect pair of shoes. Something that goes with everything, a dream that you can have with you forever. And I have found these dream shoes.
No ruby red slippers, or sparkly dancing shoes. These darlings are design that lasts. Summer, Winter, all the time. With an interesting and bold heel, and quality black leather. Proenza Schouler, you continue to seduce me.

Backstage at Fyodor Golan AW12
Fyodor Golan, Fashion Fringe winners 2011 and London's new fashion-darlings.
Their new collection was inspired by Russian peasants and royalty. They were fascinated by the story of the last Czar family, and the myth of how their daughter Anaztasia survived the execusion, by metamorphosing herself into a peasant - in the same way beetles and bugs metamorphose themselves to survive.
I think it is amazing how they manage to make something as disgusting as bugs into something as beautiful as their newest collection.

Daily Inspiration
Apologies for my absence - I have been working intensely for London fashion's new darlings, Fyodor Golan.
Friday, will be the final day, ending with a heck of a show.
Featuring lots of knits, fabric-manipulation, beading... among things, all I can say it is will be fantastic.
I cannot wait to see all the dresses on models, with full make-up and hair.
Welcome to the Machine.

Proenza Schouler AW12
I first fell in love with Proenza Schouler the first time I laid eyes on their eponomous PS1 bag. The perfect bag for every-day, but yet stylish and beautiful, oh, so beautiful.
This summer I watched the documentary following the designers, and I fell in love with the designers. Two cool New York boys, in a wooden-floor studio, full of great spirit creating beautiful things. So for this past NYFW the one show I was really looking forward to was Proenza Schouler's. One of the last night shows of the week, Proenza Schouler was something to look forward to.
Featuring assymetrical lines, low waists, jaquards, knits - inspired by far east Nepal, the clothes were indeed beautiful.
